In addition to being the recipient of the 2002 James Beard Best Chef Northeast award, Ming Tsai is known as the host of the public television show, Simply Ming, and the author of three cookbooks: Blue Ginger: East Meets West Cooking with Ming Tsai, Simply Ming and Ming's Master Recipes. Chef Tsai and his team artfully blend the unique flavors of the East with those of the West, creating food that excites the palate and entices the eyes. Blue Ginger's Feng Shui inspired design is the perfect setting in which to enjoy Ming's signature Sake-Miso Marinated Alaskan Butterfish. The award-winning, user-friendly wine list features an ever-changing tutorial highlighting different wine varietals and regions. Diners can also choose from an extensive sake selection and specialty cocktails. Zagat has rated Blue Ginger the "Second Most Popular Restaurant in Boston" since 2002. In 2005 Ming was honored as Restaurateur of the Year, by the Massachusetts Restaurant Association, and in 2007, Blue Ginger received the prestigious Ivy Award from Restaurants & Institutions for its consistent achievement in meeting the highest standards for food, hospitality and service.
