In January 2007 The Cafe began a new chapter in its storied history when Taj Boston, the Crown Jewel of Boston hotels, opened at the legendary 1927 building at Newbury Street and the Public Garden.
The Executive Chef, Franck Steigerwald, has created summer menus with a culinary panache reflecting classic favorites and appealing surprises. Throughout the summer he spotlights the New England
harvests of herbs, vegetables, fruits and the freshest seafood. Classic favorites like the signature Taj Boston Lobster Salad are featured as well as Chef Steigerwald's creative surprises flavored with a subtle blending of Italian and French influences.
The ever-changing view from its wall of windows overlooking the excitement of fashionable Newbury Street provides an animated background for diners. Its welcoming atmosphere attracts celebrities, socialites and business leaders.
Vintage photos decorating the walls include one of Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein, and now the theatre's brightest stars gather in The Cafe. Just steps from the Theatre District, dining before or after a theatre performance is a relaxing pleasure.
Saturday and Sunday an A La Carte Brunch is served until 2:30 p.m. It is one of Boston's most lively brunches and The Bloody Mary and Champagne Cart adds a festive flair.
