Spirited Gourmet Winemaker Reception
Spirited Gourmet will hold a Winemaker Reception with Michael Affatato of Chateau La Gatte, Bordeaux on Saturday August 14th, 4 to 7pm. Located in the appellations Bordeaux and Bordeaux Superieur, Chateau La Gatte was founded in 1646. Now, taste the brand new 2009 Bordeaux Blanc, the 2006 "La Butte" and 2006 "Montalon" along with a few other surprises. This will be a fantastic opportunity to meet winemakers, experience their passion for winemaking, and taste some exceptional wines.

dbar's Roof Top Garden
dbar's roof top garden in Dorchester is in full production. They are self sufficient in all herbs and pulling 10-15 lbs of tomatoes a day. You can also find the fresh rooftop mint and basil in specialty cocktails at the bar. Also, news straight from Chris Coombs himself, Deuxave will also be opening soon...Keep your eyes peeled!

Strega - Waterfront at Fan Pier!
North End Restaurateur Nick Varano of The Varano Group will expand his hospitality dynasty to Boston's illustrious waterfront with the launch of Strega - Waterfront at Fan Pier, this month. This harbor side outpost will be the sister restaurant to Varano's flagship Strega, located in the heart of Boston's famed North End. The 5,700 square foot dining destination will offer both indoor and patio dining, as well as a lively bar setting, lounge seating, private dining options and intimate wine room.

Taj Wine Tasting
On Thursday, August 26th, Taj introduces Riesling's Around The World, Wine Tasting & 4-Course Dinner with Wine Pairings for Just $65 per Person. And check out their pre-fixed menus: $23 - 3 course lunch/ $18 - 2 course lunch/ $28 - 2 course dinner and a $33 - 3 course dinner. Also Join them on Sundays for a French Champagne Brunch Buffet on the roof from 10:30am-2:30pm.

New Chef at Bravo at the MFA!
Bravo at the Museum of Fine Arts welcomes its new executive chef, Peter Agostinelli. Chef Agostinelli will focus on seasonal food, using local ingredients whenever possible. Winesdays continue at Bravo this month on Wednesday, August 25 and features an expert-led discussion on wine followed by a wine tasting with hors d'oeuvres or tapas that complement the highlighted beverage. $25 per person and includes hors d'oeuvres and tasting of featured wines. Also, Concerts in the Courtyard Summer Series offers an international lineup of musicians, from Afro-Latin dance and gospel to indie and bluegrass take place right outside Calderwood Courtyard on Wednesday evenings. Tuesdays at Dante
Tuesdays, Chef Dante de Magistris offers up $2 specialty grilled cheese sandwiches. Inspired by de Magistris' favorite Italian films, each week's selection brings guests of Restaurants dante a new melt to complement summer.

August Seasonal Sips at Meritage
August Seasonal Sips at Meritage will touch upon White Meritage on August 5, Wines with Heat taking place on August 12th; Alsatian Wines and Asian Inspired Cuisine August 19th and Back to School" Wines on August 26th. In addition Rowes Wharf Sea Grille hosts concerts on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday nights and movies by moonlight every Fridays.

National Oyster Day
On Thursday, August 5th, The Bristol Lounge and high-end jeweler Pageo will join forces to celebrate National Oyster Day. Visit The Bristol Lounge between 5-7:30pm and enjoy $2 oysters, $10 glasses of bubbly and wine, and the chance to win a pearl necklace valued at $795 from Pageo!!! Listen to live music nightly in "Boston’s living room," including a jazz trio on the weekends. Also experience weekly events including Burgers and Burgundy Wednesdays: the famous Bristol Burger paired with two glasses of burgundian style wines for just $30 per person.

Myers and Chang Seafood Cooking Classes
Myers and Chang still have a few slots open in their seafood cooking classes Saturday, August 7th and Saturday, September 4th. They are both $75 per aspiring chef and are a wonderful way to get some hands on culinary education. The class, which starts at 10am, ends with dim sum and a trip to Mings to learn where and how to buy the ingredients for the newly mastered dishes.

Cuffs New Police Code-Laced Summer Cocktail Menu.
Cuffs - An Irish Bar, located in The Back Bay Hotel, is rolling out their new police code-laced summer cocktail menu. 10-43: Call a doctor! Located in the former Boston Police Department Headquarters, Cuffs - An Irish Bar is paying homage to its predecessor by serving up these summer concoctions all season on their newly revamped patio beneath the bustling Berkeley Street sidewalk, or indoors at their lively bar. Check out the 11-25: Traffic Hazard consisting of Fire Fly Sweet Tea Vodka, lemonade, fresh strawberries or the 10-15: Prisoner in Custody with Skyy Vodka, Lemon Juice, Triple Sec, cranberry juice, dash of sugar.

Haru's New Cocktail + Fish Tacos!
Haru will have a new cocktail special for August called the Harupolitan for $6. The Harupolitan consists of a bright medley of shochu (a distilled sake), Ty Ky Citrus Liqueur and Cointreau with fresh pineapple and orange juices...Yummy! Also this month Haru presents a new menu item, Fish tacos, consisting of a trio of small ones, tuna, salmon and fluke, with a cherry tomato and shallot salsa, avocado, and a yuzu apple ceviche sauce

Pool Passes for the Public at Hotel Indigo!
Hotel Indigo is now offering daily BOKX Pool passes to the public* throughout the week. Featuring an outdoor bar and oversized couches, the BOKX Pool Deck is a perfect summer escape from the city heat and the ultimate location for dining al fresco. Boston's 1st Annual Food Truck Festival
Boston's 1st Annual Food Truck Festival will be held August 8 on Harrison Avenue in the SoWa district of the South End. The event, which is the brainchild of Citysearch Boston and SoWa Sundays, will feature a number of food trucks from the local area. The Food Truck Festival will go from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with its location being where the SoWa Food and Produce Market is held on Sundays (500 Harrison Avenue).

Spring has Sprung!
Celebrate The Marvelous Morel with A Special Spring Mushroom Menu at Upstairs on the Square, Tuesday, May 18 through Friday, May 21. We wait in patience for the marvelous reappearance of the elusive morel mushroom, one of the great harbingers of spring. Chef Steven Brand will be using morels and other spring mushrooms to create a four course tasting menu, with fresh morels as the stars of the evening. This dinner is for mushroom lovers everywhere and announces, Spring Has Sprung! Soiree Dining Room; four courses for $55 ($75 with wine).
